Madrid to Medellin direct flights Avianca Colombia

Colombia airlines Avianca have started a new direct, twice weekly flight between Madrid and Medellin, commencing July 3rd 2010 using an Airbus A330 aircraft.

The new scheduled service will operate every Thursday and Sunday from the new Terminal 4 Satellite at Madrid’s Barajas International airport departing at 13:10 local time. The return flight from the Colombian provincial capital of Medellin departs at 1820 on Wednesday and Saturday arriving in Madrid at 1110 local time the next morning.

With this new frequency Avianca now operate 19 weekly flights between Colombia and Europe. Convenient connections are available from the UK on British Airways and Iberia.
In an attempt to promote domestic tourism in Colombia, Avianca will also open up ten flights every weekday from Bogota to Bucaramanga, capital of the Santander department, and nine flights on both Saturday and Sunday.

Avianca will also increase the number of flights going from Bogota to the Cordoba capital, Monteria, with a total of three flights each way per day.

Continental Airlines NWR to Stuttgart germany flights

Continental Airlines will launch daily non-stop flights between its New York hub at Newark Liberty International Airport and Stuttgart, Germany, effective June 9, 2011 (eastbound),

Stuttgart will be the fifth German city to be served by the new United, formed last year by the merger of Continental and United Airlines. The new United is the leading U.S. carrier to Germany in terms of both seat capacity and number of flights. Continental already serves Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich from New York/Newark and Frankfurt from its Houston hub, while United serves Frankfurt from its Chicago, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. hubs and Munich from Chicago and Washington, D.C.

The New York/Newark-Stuttgart service will be operated by Boeing 757-200 aircraft, featuring 175 seats - 16 in BusinessFirst and 159 in Economy.

EWR STR Flight Schedule

Flight CO152 will depart EWR daily at 5:50 p.m. and arrive at Stuttgart Airport at 8 a.m. the following day. The return flight, CO153, will depart Stuttgart daily at 9:30 a.m. and arrive in EWR at 12:40 p.m. the same day (all times local). During the winter months, when demand traditionally declines, the service will operate five days per week (no eastbound departure on Tuesday and Wednesday).

The flights have been conveniently timed to connect at Stuttgart to key Star Alliance partner markets such as Vienna, Austria, and Hanover, Germany.

The new flights will offer Continental's award-winning Business class service. By the time of the launch, all Continental 757-200 aircraft are expected to feature new, flat-bed seats, which are being installed on all 757-200 aircraft with completion scheduled for end of May 2011. All seats including economy class on the Boeing 757 feature Audio/Video on Demand (AVOD), allowing customers to choose from up to 40 movies, 60 TV programs and over 2,000 audio tracks. Once the system is activated by the crew, customers may watch the programming whenever they choose, controlling the programs with easy-to-use touch-screens to stop, pause, rewind and fast forward. The new entertainment system also has 20 video games and an interactive Berlitz Word Traveler program that teaches foreign language. AC power ports are available at every seat.

Frankfurt Rio de Janeiro cheap fares tam airlines

The flights between Rio de Janeiro and Frankfurt will be schedule in prime time, ensuring more comfort and convenience to passengers, especially on business travels. From August 10th, the flight JJ 8072 will take off from the Tom Jobim International Airport (Galeão), in Rio de Janeiro, at 09:48p.m. and it will land in Frankfurt at 02:40p.m. (local time). The return travel will take place in flight JJ 8073, which starts being operated on August 11th, taking off from Frankfurt at 10:40p.m. (local time) and arriving in Rio de Janeiro at 06:09a.m.

Castello Branco stresses that “with this new route connecting Rio de Janeiro directly to Frankfurt, we are expanding our operations in Galeão. From this airport, which is our second center of international connections, we operate direct flights to Europe (Paris), United States (New York and Miami) and South America (Buenos Aires), besides Santiago and Caracas, with stop over in Guarulhos.” Galeão is also the Company’s third hub in the domestic market, allowing passengers from several Brazilian cities travelling to Frankfurt, with connection in Tom Jobim Airport.

TAM fly to Bogota from São Paulo

TAM airlines begin a daily flight between São Paulo and Bogota, Colombia. The operation should start by December 2010, with an A320 aircraft configured in two classes of service: Economy class and Business.

"Bogota is the last major market we were not operating in South America and has strategic importance for us: it is a metropolis with the economy based on industry, commerce and financial businesses, and has a wide cultural and tourism range", says Paulo Castello Branco, our Commercial and Planning Vice President.

TAM will compete against Avianca and Gol on the Sao Paulo-Bogota route. According to schedules in Innovata, Avianca currently operates one daily flight on the route using Airbus A330s while Gol operates six weekly flights using Boeing 737-800s.

TAM Brazilian airlines office in Hong Kong

TAM Brazilian airlines is going to open office in Hong Kong by the end of this year to promote the growth of its activities in Asia. The company currently has representative offices in South Korea, India, Japan, Thailand and Taiwan. Its new commercial structure will also include a management office in China (Beijing and Shanghai) and in Japan (Tokyo).

TAM serves several destinations in the Asian Continent by codeshare agreements. According to TAM’s Commercial and Planning Vice-President, Mr. Paulo Castello Branco, the company’s revenue in the Asian market is expected to increase over the next years, based on the new structure in Asia and its local representatives’ effort, as well as TAM’s entry into the Star Alliance.

The activities to be carried out in Hong Kong will be managed by Mr. Thierry Curey, currently business manager in Europe. The new office will be the third international back office, besides similar facilities in Europe (Madrid) and in the United States (Miami).

The business structure that TAM adopted is part of its expansion strategy in the international market. In addition to the back offices, the company has representative offices in markets not served by its own flights, also called offline bases.

“We firmly believe in our business model. We had 18 offline bases out of Brazil in the end of 2009 and are now present in 51 markets in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, in addition to the offices in countries served by our own flights”, says Castello Branco.

TAM Europe new destinations codeshare with Lufthansa

tam brazilian airlines have expanded codeshare agreement with german Lufthansa and began to offer four new destinations in Europe through connections in Frankfurt (Germany), with flights operated by partner airline. Since last October 31, tam costumers can fly from Sao Paulo to Geneva (Switzerland), Brussels (Belgium) and Amsterdam (Netherlands). And from next November 16, to Vienna (Austria).

"The expansion of the codeshare is part of international strategy aiming to increase the destinations served by TAM in Europe, through our codeshare with European partners, seeking to serve our customers with more efficient connections and differentiated products," says Commercial and Planning Vice President, Paulo Castello Branco.

Paulo Castelo Branco also said that we will offer a new destination, also in codeshare with Lufthansa to Stockholm (Sweden) – it is missing only the government authorization to start the service. Since June this year, we offer flights on codeshare with Swiss to Zurich, also in Switzerland, connecting in Paris (France).
