Foreigners eye Chengdu one of the best in China:poll

A recent survey by leading consultancy organizations shows that Chengdu holds the third place among the major cities in the Chinese mainland on the rankings of
their global images.
The survey, called Research on Chinese Cities Global Image, was co-conducted by Gallup and Fudan University and involved Chinas leading news media and research
institutions. The result of the survey was announced at a press conference on Aug 30, 2010 in Shanghai. This research was launched in April and is aimed at learning how foreigners think about China and how to enhance Chinese cities global image.
Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Xian, Changsha, Kunming and Changchun are selected as the top ten (Chengdu and Nanjing tie for third), with Chengdu as the sole candidate in western China.
The evaluation system of the survey relates to 12 indicators such as city culture, city environment, investment value, individual character, transportation and development potential. Respondents in this research come from more than 100 countries, across six continents, totaling approximately 7, 980 people.
