AirAsia Cargo was awarded Asia’s Best Low Cost Cargo Carrier award in HKG on 09th March 2011 at the Aviation Awards Asia ceremony. Awards nominations were assessed by a panel of six distinguished industry professionals, taking into account individual nominees’ merits and achievements in areas such as: innovation, customer service, the deployment of technology to improve efficiency, safety-improvement initiatives and overall business strategy.
KUALA LUMPUR, May 13 (Bernama)-- AirAsia Bhd was named winner of the Air Cargo Industry Customer Care Award presented by Air Cargo Week (ACW), a respected United Kingdom-based air cargo news publication.
Last year, it was named the Air Cargo Industry New Comer of the Year by ACW. This year, it was named Fastest Growing Foreign Cargo Airline by Baiyun International Airport in Guangzhou, and also picked up the Asia''s Best Low Cost Cargo Carrier Award from Aviation Awards Asia in Hong Kong.--BERNAMA
AirAsia emerged first in a global survey that polled industry peers and shippers. In a statement today, AirAsia said it was the only low-cost airline based in Asean to win an award at the awards ceremony held in Munich, Germany, on Wednesday.
"The award has proven how strongly the brand has grown in cargo.We are relatively new in cargo and yet, have established leadership in many aspects of this industry," said AirAsia Regional Head of Cargo, Sathis Manoharen. Sathis said: "This award has proven that low cost does not mean low quality. We have spent a great deal of time calibrating our processes. The result of this is, being recognised, by all industry peers." It is the second time that AirAsia has won a ACW World Air Cargo Award.
