Hong Kong Airlines land at Changi Airport

Hong Kong Airlines launched its daily route flight from Hong Kong to Singapore is starting from 15th January 2011. Minister Counselor Mr. Li Ming Lin comment, the new launched route of Hong Kong Airlines, give the positive significance to bilateral economic and trade cooperation between mainland China, Hong Kong and Singapore. It is the second carrier to operate passenger services to Changi Airport and the first to commence freighter services to Singapore this year.

Hong Kong Airlines will operate a daily passenger service on Airbus A332 aircraft (in a two-class configuration) as well as four-weekly freighter services on Airbus A330-200F aircraft. The freighter service, with a capacity of 64 tonnes, will operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. With the addition of Hong Kong Airlines, the Singapore and Hong Kong route will be served by some 270 passenger flights and 50 freighter flights each week.

With the addition of Hong Kong Airlines, the Singapore and Hong Kong route will be served by some 270 passenger flights and 50 freighter flights each week.

In the first 11 months of 2010, passenger traffic between Singapore and Hong Kong rose more than 24 per cent to 2.55 million, compared to 2009.

During the same period, cargo throughput on the same route rose 16 per cent, with some 157,000 tonnes moved.
