Canadian North adds Boeing 737 plane to its fleet

Canadian North airlines has expanded its fleet to include a Boeing 737 300 aircraft. This new model adds a third type of plane to its fleet, including Boeing 737-200 planes as well as de Havilland Dash 8 aircraft.

“The addition of the b733 is an exciting first step for us in our fleet renewal strategy,” states Canadian North’s Vice President of Operations, Steve Hankirk. “The increase in demand in our charter operation, coupled with the strong operation on the scheduled side of our business, has allowed us to move forward with this new aircraft.”

The 737-300 aircraft offers several desirable features, including:

A passenger capacity of 136 (the 200 series can accommodate up to 112 passengers)
A lower fuel burn
Lower maintenance costs
A longer flight range
By adding the 737-300 model to its fleet, Canadian North now operates nine 737-200 aircraft, four Dash 8 aircraft, as well as an additional three to four Dash 8 aircraft that it leases each day.
Canadian North fly to Northwest Territories and Nunavut through their southern gateways of Edmonton and Ottawa, as well as from other major southern Canadian cities through their partnership with Air Canada. Canadian North also offers charter services beyond the North for industrial clients, sports teams, and large groups.
