qatar airways start new route to africa

Qatar Airways announced a further expansion of africa route network with Uganda direct flights from the airline’s Doha hub.

Daily non-stop scheduled flights to Uganda’s second largest city of Entebbe are due to begin on November 2, marking the carrier’s first new route to the African continent since early 2007.

Unveiling the expansion plans in Dubai today, Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said the new routes further demonstrated the airline’s ambitious strategy to continue opening up new routes to africa markets.

The routes will be operated with Airbus A320 aircraft in a two-class configuration of 12 seats in Business Class and 132 in Economy.

Qatar Airways, the award-winning Doha-based airline currently flies to 14 cities across Africa, including Alexandria, Algiers, Cairo, Luxor, Casablanca, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Khartoum, Lagos, Nairobi, Dar Es Salaam, Seychelles, Tripoli and Tunis.

From each of these cities, the airline offers convenient connections via its Doha hub to many points on the airline’s network covering Europe, Middle East, Asia Pacific and North and South America.

“And we are pleased to be reinforcing our presence in Africa, four years after our last move there when we launched flights to Tanzania’s capital city of Dar es Salaam. KLM President & CEO Peter Hartman: “Latin America is an emerging market. Because Brazil is experiencing such strong economic growth we see Rio’s inclusion in the KLM network as beneficial to our business passengers. Foreign investment in the region is increasing strongly, fuelled by the growing oil and gas industry”.

Rio is also an attractive destination for European tourists especially because of famously popular beaches like Copacabana and Ipanema. Brazil will host the World Cup in 2014 and the Olympic Games will take place in Rio in 2016.

Air France KLM’s codeshare partner GOL offers connecting flights from Rio to an extensive, expanding number of destinations in Brazil.

when do airlines change ticket prices

All airlines change fares continually. Real fare changes may happen 3-4 times a day, depending on the demand for that flight and the amount of time left to book.
But inventory availability can change the prices in a minute or even quicker
In the USA reservations are held until 12 midnight Pacific Time (at the most). What happens to unpurchased reservations? They get put back in the system.

I believe this is how it works. At 12 midnight Pacific Time the system cancels out unpurchased reservations. The computers update and this takes time. By 2 a.m. or 3 a.m. Pacific Time the fares reappear online and for sale again.

Hawaiian Airlines launched nonstop service between Honolulu and Seoul, South Korea.
Seoul represents Hawaiian's first destination on the Asia continent and its third Asia destination overall, having previously launched service to Manila (April 2008) and Tokyo (November 2010).

Hawaiian's flight to Seoul's Incheon International Airport will help meet the growing demand of Korean travelers while also making it easier for other Asian travelers to reach Hawaii, a position supported by Tae-Soo Yeo, head of the aviation sales team at Incheon International Airport Corporation.

To attract Korean travelers and meet their service expectations for the Incheon-Honolulu route, Hawaiian is complementing its award-winning "Hawaii Starts Here" inflight experience celebrating Hawaii's culture, people and natural beauty, with a customized presentation adapted to the Korean culture, featuring new pan-Asian inflight meal, Korean entertainment options, and special onboard amenities.
Starting today, Hawaiian's Flight HA 459 departs Honolulu International Airport four days weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 1:20 p.m. and arrives at Incheon International Airport ICN at 8:05 p.m. the following day.

Hawaiian will initially serve the ICN HNL route using its wide-body, twin-aisle Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, which comfortably seats up to 264 passengers with 18 in Business Class and 246 in Economy Class. Hawaiian plans to introduce its new and larger 294-seat Airbus A330-200 aircraft onto the route at a later date.
